What a shame. It looks to me like the boat was dropped. I don't see how misplacing the lifting straps could do such damage.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Sunken boat

Every year I paint and launch my boat. Never had a leak ( other that a thru hull that needed to be replaced). This year my wife was ill and required my attention so I brought boat to a boatyard for painting, starting up engine and launching. After waiting several weeks they finally told me it was launched. I got a call a few days later that it had partially sunk. I have no idea what they did but my boat and batteries were submerged and ruined. This is picture of the hull in front of keel with a crack that obviously occurred after they painted it. They are claiming it was a pre existing condition but I know she was seaworthy last season and I would have noticed this when I power washed bottom. I’m thinking they either bounced it in ground or strapped wrong. Has anyone else ever had a similar incident?
