Graham, yes, The Great Lakes are badly infested esp. Lake Michigan. I read
the entire lake bottom is 6' deep with mussel shells. It has actually
changed the color of the lake which I saw for myself a few summers ago when
I crewed on Pride of Baltimore II.  Good to know the paint job should hold
up! That's very reassuring. Thanks for mentioning.
