[Rhodes22-list] Storm

Ben,

You may want to consider some other type of 'lock' to keep your pop-top
in position. Not sure what you have, but BlewDaze is fitted with a
fairly lightweight push-in/pop-out lock to keep the slider in the closed
position. After abit of jiggling due to a missing key (another story),
we discovered that our setup is easily foiled and not very
'burglar-proof'. I'm sure it would probably not hold up too well to
extreme winds, either . . .

In addition to adding docklines and fenders for extreme weather, perhaps
a heavy-duty system for securing the slider/companionway may provide
comfort?
Sure hope Isadore does not hit your area. Alex and I were in N.
Michigan when NC was threatened with a hurricane a couple weeks ago.
Needless to say, we were anxious, and on the phone to friends to look
after our boats in our absence. Mother Nature can sure make one feel
helpless! I'm quite practiced in dealing with the extremes of severe
Colorado mountain weather, but need to learn how to prep for NC's
weather storms.

Regards, Pamela
