[Rhodes22-list] E mail services

Will,
Last summer my local provider had a series of technical
problems. I ask around and asked the list for who would be good to
switch to. Earthlink was a consideration, but before I switched to dsl
by the same local provider that I was having problems with. It has been
working fine. While I have cable service, I choose not to go with
cable. A big factor around here has been cable service is not near as
reliable as phone service in this area. My DSL is a bit pricey, but has
proved to work well.
During my search, I came up with a couple of national providers who are
not well know, unfortunately I cannot locate that list. Have you tried
a WEB search?
                  Ed K

RCN is the cable provider I have. Their also the ones that have the slow
mail servers. The ISP service works fairly well with the exception of
Port
80 blocks, and the extreme dip in service due to rising neighbors
catching
on. They're not into the whole bandwith hog by running a server or
ftps...Advantage 1 of DSL? So i have the cable modem, but the cable
email is
there at my option, i just choose not to use it. I guess ATT Worldnet is
unusual with speed? Because i've never seen an outgoing message take
more
than 60 seconds to go out and bounce back, nor take that long to hit
someone
else with a reasonable provider.

rule
you use the outgoing email server of your ISP, BTW 15

delay
is 7.5 minutes. believe it or not, smaller is better, less

out
of business. Have you tried cable yet?
