Mary Lou,

Same here. And there are some square edges on it so you can't really place
the restrainer above or below w/o chafing. So I just moved it and covered
old the hole w/ the halyard restrainer. The UPS fits nicely and there's no
danger of halyard wrap. I wouldn't advise going much more than 12-14" below
the masthead or you may not be able to tension the luff of the UPS
sufficiently.

The restrainer Paul sent to me was one he had sitting on his desk - I think
it's a bit different than the Harken one, but I don't think that matters
much. It came with a little plastic strip cut to fit to place between the
stainless halyard restrainer and the aluminum mast - it covered the old
steaming light hole nicely.
