[Rhodes22-list] GBI furler /head stay

Bob,
Since my headstay broke at the fitting, I did not have to drill out the
bushings on the furler. But a new headstay can be made by putting the wire
through the furler before attaching the fitting. That would be best. The
second (or maybe third) problem I had was that the new fitting was slightly
smaller than the old one, so the drum slid right down to the bottom, just as
you stated. Rummy to the rescue-he manufactured a plastic fitting that goes
on the wire between the furler and fitting that keeps the furler up where it
is supposed to stay. It is really a plastic bushing that screws together
around the wire and it works perfectly. I think he is making and selling
these for some price ($50? - which includes his designing and engineering
work)...

Hope that helps.
