[Rhodes22-list] Small temporary replacement motor

David,

We have used a 4.5 hp Evinrude 2 stroke on our R22 ever since we have had
it. I've never felt like I needed more motor than that. It is true though,
that I only sail on lakes, so I have no currents to battle. Our little
Evinrude would drive the boat at 5 - 5 1/2 knots, which I always thought
was plenty. I did change props from the standard 8 x 7, to a 8.6 x 5.5.
Didn't really notice any difference in top speed, but slow speed
performance improved considerably. Those 9.9 Yamahas are beautiful motors,
but my personal opinion is, they are both heavier and more powerful than is
needed.
