Since we managed to get through last week without
anyone on the list setting off a nuclear bomb, I
thought I'd add some food (no pun intended) for
thought. Every year I do my income taxes I pick a
special project where I want my money to go and then
consider that project my "gift" to the government(it
helps keep my anger in check). As much as I
appreciate the military and the job they do, its tough
to buy them anything because everything is so
expensive. I don't want to share a B-1 bomber with
several thousand others. So this year as I have for
the past several years I'm sponsering my old friend
D$%^&t M@#$%r from my hometown. D$%^&t inherited farm
land but decided he didn't like farming so he became
an aircraft mechanic instead and opened a small repair
shop. He hired me as an apprentice when I was only
fifteen and for that I will be ever gratefull. Years
later D$%^&t decided to quit aviation and return to
farming. He's a nice guy, goes to church with my
parents, and is well liked by most in our little town
of 650 people. One day I stumbled across this website
in the Wall Street Journal - ewg.org. ewg.org lists
all the farm subsidy recipients by state/county/name
and by crop. It also has some interesting lists of
CEOs, movie stars, and others who are recieving
payments. Look up your own county or someone you know
and see for yourself. Since we have a war coming up
and April 15 is looming, I'm counting on some of you
to buy bullets and gas masks and stuff. I pay a hell
of a lot of taxes but its a real struggle just to take
care of my old friend D@#$%t each year, and some years
I come up short, so please take up some of the slack.
If you want D@#$%t you can have him and I'll buy some
Humvee tires instead. Thats ewg.org.

Brad
