[Rhodes22-list] Dislodged mast base plate

I have a problem with 5200, depending on the amount it might have been used(and gotten on the plate), it's "to good", the stuff is a
great glue, and might not pull loose without taking allot of martial with it. SOP is to fill with thickened epoxy, redrill the
holes, and BED THE SCREEWS with silicon. Using the next size up is also resonable(but watch out for this being the second drop, IIRC
stan uses #8)

I had the same problem.
The plate is made to pop off and save the coach top.
I went with the next size screw, filled the holes with 5200 and remounted the plate. All is well...

I'm sure this is on past posts and the FAQs, but for us newbies who have this problem or might, how do you properly remount the mast
base plate? During mast lowering last might, the winch got away from my wife and the mast dropped the last couple of feet. No
damage done except it did pop the mast base plate off. I consoled my wife telling her it's made to do that and I would have it
repaired in no time (help me make good on my promise!). It looks like it's held down with one inch wood screws.

While I'm at it, what type of caulk do you suggest for topside? I've got a couple of fittings where the caulk that is on there is
degraded. I assume something with UV resistance.

Thanks for you help. - rob
