[Rhodes22-list] Newbie anchoring questions & Hammers

Todd,
The anchor that came with Rum Runner had four feet of chain. I had a
miserable time anchoring anywhere on our lake because of the really red,
clay bottom. I had to replace the chain last season and opted for the six
foot length. Thge increase of two feet made a huge difference. I can now
anchor anywhere with confidence that I won't be dragging.
Bill,
My original comment about hammers was not about the motors, but about
people forgetting to do the proper preperation prior to going out or
launching. After a winter of sitting on our butts, sometimes we forget to
do things that we normally would do. Use a check list prior to going out,
it makes life easier.

Rummy.......spent the afternoon sailing.....and you?

or does it depend on the bottom type?

and/or tide changes 180 degrees, will the anchor pull out and drag? And if
so would likely just flip over and reset? Should I set a second anchor or
use a different type?
