the problem is they put everything on the wire then swag on the fitting. to take it off the mast will require dropping it to pull
the head pins,

FWIW, you could use a sure-lock by might not be worth the cost, the wire might have 30 years on it, might want to think about
replacing the whole setup with a CDI.
