[Rhodes22-list] A couple of questions

Steve: Yes the mast has to be down to slip the main furling pole and sail
out from the foot of the mast. If the mast is raised be sure that you
disconnect the pop top slider from the foot of the mast before you drop (bad
word) the mast. This is a two to three people job so be careful. That is
of course if the previous owner did not have GB's mast raising and lowering
system, which many of us highly recommend.

If you are missing a piece from the boom/main gooseneck, you need to contact
GB to get a replacement.
I'm sure that some folks could fabricate something that would work but as
you are new to the boat, start with something that you know works. It would
be well worth your while to go and visit another R22 before you get too far
along on figuring the rigging. There are some pictures on the web site
which will prove very helpful.

It is a great boat. Have fun. Be sure to get the number off of the stern
and pass it to Rummy, who monitors the list and keeps track of who has which
hull number, home port, etc.

The seats will support you with no problem. If you are not comfortable with
the flex, you can install a support mid way along the seats but I really
don't think that you will need it.
