[Rhodes22-list] More politics

Steve,

Finally we agree on something! Stopping rape and killing is a good thing!
And I don't disagree that our military strength helps keep us safe. Wow!
Maybe I'm actually a closet conservative! Or, even better, maybe you're a
closet liberal!

And if we can stop rape and killing in Iraq it's even better! There's oil
there! Now, let's see - Rwanda? Naw, no oil. Haiti? Oops! No oil! Burundi?
Dang. No oil again! Slovenia? Oops! All of these had plenty of rape and
killing at one time or another, but there's no freaking oil! Good thing we
had the good old United Nations to cover for us on some of them.

Don't get me wrong, Steve. I believe this is a great country and I strongly
believe that it is our responsibility as the world's sole remaining super
power to do what we can to further cause of freedom - including the freedom
to not be raped or killed, whether by some despotic regime, a mob of
genocidal maniacs, or a bunch of cold hard terrorist crazies. However, I
think it's a bit disingenuous to say that's why we went to Iraq when there
have been so many other oil-free hot spots around the world we haven't
chosen to invade.

Mark

Mark
Protesting this war when we have freed a country.
Stop the killing of inconsist poeple, stop the daily
raping of women. No one want war; but it's war that
keep us free. Its' all those missile we have that
keep other countries from attaching us. Its all our
ships that show up on a country doorstep to help out
when a country get out of hand & we bring them back in
line. These are the thinks that make this country
GREAT. That something to be proud of.
Steve
