Steve,
Looking at the picture of Vista Jay's interior, it looks to me like your compression post is slightly to port of center (why am I not surprised). It appears to be in the same place as the compression post on Fretless which is slightly off center (to port) but still under the right side of the mast. Maybe this is what others are talking about when they say their compression post is off-center?
