Chris,

I've been threatening to tow my boat down to the Keys since they were owned
by Spain. I think the Bahamas were once owned by Spain, also, so I'll add
them to my list. But if I ever get out of Long Island Sound, I think the
first place I'll go will be the Keys.

Bill,
Be nice to yourself after the birth of your book, don't go to the Keys,
go to the Bahamas!

Herb,

You're going to make me cry. I did get an auto tiller because I saw this
problem coming, but I've been so busy I haven't even had the chance to
install it. It is sitting on the boat in it's box, waiting.

I also developed a waterproof laptop computer system that I can take to and
from my boat, with a power supply that works off my boat batteries, plus
another back up battery system...just in case, and a cell phone always-on
link to the internet--all checked out and never used.

And still the book wasn't ready by my birthday--and I haven't sailed even
once this year. (Normally I get out at least 75 times a year.) But, you
pays yer money, and you takes yer cherse. This year I took the choice of
writing the book instead of sailing the boat.

Maybe I'll tow it down to the Keys this winter to make up for lost time.
I've been talking about doing that for a long time. Then I can write and
sail at the same time when I'm not on a tight deadline.

Bill

You ought to get an auto-tiller. Then, you can sail and write at the same
time!!

Ron,

It almost seems like a set-up doesn't it? But it isn't. I didn't plan to
discuss this issue today, and I didn't plan for Michael to release this
information to this list.

I don't own the quotes, nor are they owned by the people who originally
uttered them, nor by the organizations that originally printed them. All I
own is the order they are now in. That's my intellectual property, and you
are free to copy the quotes themselves and distribute them in any form you
see fit.

The only reason I had the time to bring up the intellectual property matter
is that the typesetting for my book, which was sent by my United States
publisher to India, came back completely wrong, and I would not permit
release of the book until it is fixed. As a consequence, the "Buy" buttons
don't work on my site, and I had a little time on my hands during which I
chose to vent my frustrations.

The book will shortly (I hope) be available as an ebook in PDF format, Palm
format, and as a physical book in bookstores, and through Palm, Amazon,
Adobe, and others. Until then, you are free to visit the site and get a
taste of what I have been doing this summer that has kept me from sailing.
If you would like to copy and send quotes you may do so with my
blessings--just tell your friends where you got them.
