[Rhodes22-list] Slim in S.A. Bring Pictures

Ed,

I've been taking tons of pix including some great shots of the
interior--hills, forest, waterfalls, etc. I'll post them on my Shutterfly
site when I get back. The computers, modems, ISP's etc. here are all pretty
slow if they work at all. The motto is: Everything is broken! I'm lucky
to be able to e-mail yáll at all. Man, do I miss my Mac and high speed
connection!

The really bad news is that here in Recife, they've been having a huge
infestation of sharks and there have been many attacks and people hurt and
even killed. You can only go in the water up to your knees. This was the
predicted result of the building of a new port nearby that changed the
natural flow through the reef ("Recife") and now the sharks have lost their
habitat and are starving, so they're feeding on tourists! It has also
changed the way the current flows along the coast and now the ocean is
eating up the shore line. Real estate investors are panicking. You can't
f**k with Mother Nature--the ocean will always win.

On the Brazilian flag it reads: "Order and Progress" The very two things
Brazil lacks. 8-)

Love and kisses,

Slim
