[Rhodes22-list] hull numbers was Jenny Tracks

Todd,

The HID number on my Maryland Vessel Registration form is the full Hull ID
as listed in a previous message. On reviewing the Rhodes Owners list
mentioned before, I find Peter Horn with GBX220144A84 and Burt Brody with
GBX220144A82. If you accept that the Rhodes Owners list is correct, you
have the answer to your question, if it is wrong all bets are off.

As an aside, your example hull numbers are incorrect, the Rhodes 22 '85
numbering system changed, actually the law mandated the numbering system
change as of August 1, 1984, so that Jim Connolly's hull number is
GBX22123C585 in order to maintain the required 12 character serial number
(HIN). The zero after GBX22 was dropped in order to include a 5 after the C
(designating the date of certification as March, 1985). The law works in
mysterious ways.

Lloyd
(You know my vessel's name by now)

> Is the A84 acutally part of the hull ID number as far as registration
purpose goes? Can there be a GBX220139A84 and a GBX220139M85? .....the
same number except for the month and year of mfg? Does the 220139 part of
the number ever repeat or are the hull numbers all sequential? Maybe this
is a question that only Stan can answer.
