[Rhodes22-list] advice on ground for battery

Lou, what is it you are trying to accomplish? If you are trying to
ground all of your electrical devices (batteries, lights, radio, etc.)
then you can install a ground bus and just tie all of the grounds
together. Since you don't have an inboard engine you won't tie this
ground to the block like the manuals all say. You won't actually have
an "earth" ground, but that is not needed in an electrical circuit if
you are running a ground wire from each device back to the negative of
the battery (or a grounding bus if the battery negatives are also
connected there). You do not want to tie any of these grounds to
anything that is in contact with the water.

Your ground for the mast/lightining rod should be isolated from your
electrical ground or you are guaranteed to fry your electronics if you
are struck by lightening.

You might want to check out the following article.

Have fun,

Hank
