Bill, I have only used it in winds <10 kt. Any more wind and I don't have
any problem keeping the sail full. I only have the pad eye but wished I had
gone with the track system. To know where to put the pad eye I originally
had a jury rigged pad eye with rope. I tried it is several positions and
found the best compromise. Yesterday I had a 2 hour reach were I was glad
to have the pole. MY only complaint was when the wind died down to 5 or so
the end of the pole dropped bringing the clew with it. At anything above 5
kts the pole was parallel with the water. The track may be over kill, but I
would have put it to good use yesterday. Still Sailing in St. Louis. Bob
