Gary, I agree with MJM.  I have sailed my old Rhodes from Ft. Lauderdale
through most of the Bahamas.  But this was after sailing the boat on the
Chesepeake for 17 years first, plus several years sailing around in the Med.
I don't think you need to wait 17 years though, but be sure you really know
the boat in all situations.  Push the envelope, but slowly. Good luck and

The standard answer "Can A rhodes22 be sailed to Hawaii", sure the boat will
make it, the crew will be dead, in good weather the
boat can be taken almost any were. Including open ocean. The problem it not
build to weather day and day of storms on the high seas,
if you are more than 4 hours from a safe port most like you are pushing it
to hard. Their also the issue the safety of the boat and
crew will depend on the captain skills more that anything else, so if you
are asking the question you need more experience.
