[Rhodes22-list] Sailing season reflections

Hi Keith,

There are a couple of us Rhodies on Lake Minnetonka. The lake is broken up
into many bays and islands and so the sailing is pretty interesting. There
are several yacht clubs and marinas, but you might have to put your name on
a waiting list. Dan and Julie, who have Blue Loon, know more about that
than I. I'm lucky enough to be at a private dock, but then I have to tend
to the dock twice a year to put it in and take it out. There are
opportunities to join races if you're into that. Mostly I'm a party sailor
but Julie is doing her best to get me to join her and Dan in the races and
I'm gonna do it one of these days. Lake Minnetonka is quite heavily
populated. There are almost no vacant lots anywhere on the shore. Sunday
afternoons can be a bitch because of all the boat traffic, but if you can
get out in the middle of the week, you have the lake mostly to yourself.

Let us know when you'll be here and we'll try to coordinate something. We
sail into mid-October but not much past that so time is running out. Feel
free to give me a call: 612-743-5644 not just for sailing--if I can help
you with any other orientation here in the Twin Cities, I'd be happy to
offer assistance.

Good luck with your move,

Slim
