All,

This topic keeps coming up again and again and we've meant to "nail it down
once and for all" as Bill said, so let's do that.  I'm starting two threads:
one is called "Lowering the mast to the stern" and the other is called
"Raising the mast with the bow crane."

There are some, although they never speak up, who lower the mast to the bow.
If you are one of those, please begin a new thread called "Lowering the mast
to the bow" or "Raising the mast with the trailer winch" and offer your
instructions.  Do not reply to one of the first two threads.  Let's keep
these topics specific and separate.

We'll let them run for a while so everybody gets a chance for any input, but
please, stay on topic just this once, OK?  8-)  After some discussion, we
can post the final version on the FAQ site and point people in that
direction the next time it comes up.  Any and all input is welcomed. Feel
free to comment on any extra steps, missed steps, wording that might be more
clear, etc.
