[Rhodes22-list] Politics: Facts

Grayson, Brad,

Thanks for looking for me. The reason the quote isn't in my book is that I could never find a proper attribution. It's one of those quotes that keeps popping up, but no one can ever tell you exactly when the person said it, and under what circumstances.

It's like "Nice guys finish last." Leo Durocher never said it. What he actually said was "Nice guys finish seventh."

Maybe DPM did say it, but I won't use it until I can be sure.

Thanks, again for taking the time.

Bill

Just about everyone on Google seems to think so, at least until you get down
to the loonies at level 3 or 4 where they start to call him "Moynahan" or
leave the attribution out entirely. Nobody else gets credit.

"Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts."

Attributed to Daniel Patrick Moynihan
Senator, New York (D)

PS--Does anyone know when or whether he really said this?
