Her name is Paradise.

She still needs some paint on top, the front port-lights need to be replaced, the v-berth needs to be rebuild, and the galley needs to replaced.

I did replace the winches, bow and stern u-bolts, and I had to fiberglass the stringers as they were all lose. Installing the centerboard was a pain in the neck. I also rebuilt the rudder head using starboard instead of wood, and I had to make new rudder head plates.

I let somebody else do the bottom job. She had about 10 blisters including one thru the bow. I think that this boat would have sank if it did not have the foam in the bow. The foam did not let that much water in as it had bonded to the fiberglass. I had to remove all the foam from the bow as it was water logged.

Right now we are going to start sailing her and keep working on her little by little.

We had a lot of help from friends at the Bayshore Gardens Yacht Club, and I literally ‘found’ a motor.

A friend of mine was selling his boat, and his motor got stolen. He sold the boat without the motor, and 2 weeks later I saw a motor that looked like his at a pawn shop. I called him and described the motor to him, but he said that that was not his motor.

Two weeks later, the mechanic that had worked on his motor called him to tell him that he found his motor at a pawn shop. The mechanic said that he was sure it was his motor because he had put some markings inside the casing the last time that he worked on it. He had removed the casing to inspect the motor and the markings were there.

My friend went to the pawn shop and checked the serial number and it was a match. He called the police and was able to get his motor back after some paperwork. He gave me the motor because he said that I found it.
