Luis,
& any lurkers out there who want are following this repair..

I may be crazy but I actually am enjoying the process of cutting
away the bulging cement, and laminate in my trunk, with the
expectation of having brought a throwaway boat back from a rear
boatyard demise.
I have nearly finished cutting away all the port side bulge, but
still have a rear stb side (bulge) that is in the rear of the trunk.
This weekend was partially spent making a set of 18" aluminum
extensions to my caliper which can now measure the width of the trunk
and board more accurately. I have ascertained that my board would
now have a 1/8 clearance , 1/16 on each side, but am not satisfied
with that tolerance and will remeasure when I have fit in my template
of 1/8cardboard which will simulate the garolite G10 patch Roger
advised using.
I have markings on the top of my trunk flange which correspond to
tape running lengthwise on the board. I have taken careful
measurements of the width of the board at important benchmarks .
I am hoping to have to refrain from cutting up the stb side of the
trunk except for the rear bulge which is going to be tough enough.
I have gone through a few versions of extensions to my flex drive
dremel tool so I can manipulate it into the tightest creavaces in the
trunk. However, the jury is still out if I can cut that rear bulge
out as effectively as I have done in the center of the trunk.
I also have supported the flange with wood as that wall under the
flange will be completely restored on the outside of the flange with
garolite and epoxied after the patches are in place.
So in esssence I am rebuilding my centerboard trunk , leaving the
pivot slot alone and just working around it for now.
pictures were not possible this week as my neighboring boat was being
prepped for launch and water was being sprayed about most of the
afternoon.

still hoping to sail later in the season,
  Lou
