[Rhodes22-list] Flying News - Good and Bad

Here's the good news - I put in my application for a
flex instructor position a few weeks ago, today I
interviewed, they hired me on the spot.  Flex
Instructors teach for about three months at a time and
fly for a month, then go back to teaching.  Good duty
if you like to teach!  Second, I had and engine fire
last week right in front of the B terminal at Newark. 
Not supposed to happen but it did on my watch.  We had
a gazillion dollars worth of racehorces on board and I
chose to save the horses.  The NTSB and others have
been all over my ass second guessing decisions.  I
made the right call.  They've backed off. Third,
here's the bad news.  For eight years I've worn
nothing but a cheap polyester pilot uniform or
jeans/shorts and boat shoes.  Now I have to go to
Costco and buy some Dockers and Polo shirts to look
like some somebody, business casual they say. The new
job means more time for sailing!  Somedays a hero,
other days a goat!
