Hi,
	I am in fresh water and leave my rudder up when not sailing.  A few
years ago Rummy put something into Lake Hartwell and if you leave the rudder
down it grows red stuff.  Also it is good in this water to pull your boat
and wash your boats bottom a couple of times a year.  That same red stuff
grows well on bottom paint here.
