[Rhodes22-list] Re: Commitment to war

My husband has always said there is no such thing as an ex-marine. Once a
marine always a marine, and refers to himself as a former marine since he is
now in the army. He does wish he stayed in the corp. May I ask what you
do? Deena

Deena,

This is a small point to quibble over but you
described your husband as a "retired Marine". Based
on my experience there is no such thing. Wouldn't
"recovering Marine" be more appropriate?

Brad

PS: I work for a quasi-military outfit, the CEO,
Chief Pilot, and a good chunk of the crew force is
"retired" or "former" Marine.
