[Rhodes22-list] political debate and the list charter

Todd,

I assume you're talking about Roger, but I disagree. He never shirked away
from political discussions. He was always one of the ones who proliferated
the discussions. He would always begin with, "Gentlemen, ....." and then
give his opinion which everyone (mostly) treated with respect and maturity.
I don't think he has left us because of this. I have no theories on why,
but suspect he might have sold his boat (he was threatening to do that) and
maybe he did. I dunno. I remember when you joined, and we gave you a lot
of shit and you just gave it right back and now we're friends. Simple as
that! 8-) And you've been one of our most knowledgeable members in
engineering and repair. Thank you for hanging with us.

Graham, lots of us have been here on the list for a long time and we
consider each other as friends, albeit cyber friends, and we discuss
anything. We've discussed R22 issues into the ground and we'll continue to
do that, but this is a very diverse and interesting group. The only thing
we have in common is the R22, and that's great. We can talk about the boat
forever but that's not the only thing we're interested in. Like Lloyd said,
life is like salt and pepper.... This isn't just an R22 site, it IS a blog
of sorts for us friends. If you don't like us, say goodbye and unsubscribe.
You have every right to express your opinion (and you're not the first or
last to complain about the political stuff) but here's some advice: If you
don't like us, leave. But if you have any questions or comments about
sailing, all you have to do is ask. You'll get answers.

Slim
