Why, with hundreds of channels available are we funding public radio and
television, but we are told we need our taxes raised to meet other
requirements?  The government needs to get out of the radio and tv business.

yea - most got that info wrong.  the industry was in a terrible slump - the
tax came later and had little effect because no one was buying anything
before the tax

still, it was just as smart a congressional move for saving the economy as
was the contract with America's step to save the economy by defunding public
radio and TV.
