Phillip,

The RV units are 120V as well and are heavier.  Here

The compressor on any A/C unit is a high amp draw item
and that is the problem.  My boat is 30 feet and I
couldn't fit enough batteries on it to run a DC unit
or AC through an inverter.  When you get to about 40
feet you can go with a genset and produce all the
power you want.  I'm looking at developing a
muffler/exhaust system for the Honda EU1000 that would
vent the exhaust underwater, same as the engine, and
avoid the problem of exhaust backdrafting through the
hatches and A/C unit.  Again, for the way I use my
boat, ie, sleeping mostly dockside, the window unit on
shorepower will do the trick.
