Gregg:
Unfortunately, one of the most expensive things on the Rhodes 22 can
be the IMF mast. Used ones are hard to come by, even Stan could use some.
New masts are a special situation and then some. Stan is the only source of
a new mast. He has to special order the mast and then wait. The mast are
extruded on Stan's die, which is of his own design. He has to order enough
to make it worth the extruder's time. The hardest part is cash needed to do
a run.
Rummy has seen Stan's operation and presumed all the masts on the
drums were available. Actually, if you want a used standard mast, there may
be some. However, the used IMF's belong on he boats under going recycle.
You will have to negotiate with Stan on the costs of a new mast. I
suspect the only way to get him to order a run of new masts is to send him a
cashier's check in advance.
Do you have any more information about the ball failure? Was it the
right size? Was it at least for a class 3 hitch? We who tow might would
like more details on this subject.

Gregg,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Rhodes Owners. Sounds like the boat got
the better end of it in the accident. They are one tough boat and hard to
destroy.
I am glad you decided to rebuild her vs letting her get chopped up and sent
to the boat graveyard.

Rummy
