[Rhodes22-list] Gasoline spill under the floor

Barry,

MJM brought up something I hadn't thought of.
Floatation foam. Underground gasoline storage tanks
are made of fiberglass, it will be OK. You need an
emulsifier to break down the gasoline and get it to
let go of its surface tension hold on the hull, and to
flush it with the pumped out bilge water. So what's
left to hold it in place? The floatation foam. The
worst case situation would be to replace the foam.
Try the bilge flushes first. If there is any residual
gasoline left, you'll smell it. The vapors are the
enemy.
