[Rhodes22-list] Leaky bow ports; chain plate question; and boom slider block

Hey Guys,

I have rain water leaking in on both the port and starboard side (opening)
ports. I opened them both up and disassembled for cleaning this summer. The
port side leaks much worse than the starboard. I captured about a half inch
from one day's rain (about a pint)! Are there any secrets to keeping them
water tight?

Also, I am curious about how the chain plates can be accessed for
inspection/removal/replacement. I don't have problem with them at this
point, just wondering. What is the technique for keeping them sealed?

Finally, I read the string on the boom slider with interest. I noticed that
mine was very loose, so I disconnected the boom and found a self tapping
machine screw (like a 1/4 inch lag screw). It was stainless, but based on
the pictures that were posted, it looks like my set up is not factory
original. What is the correct combination of fasteners?

Todd Z.
