first thanks for all of the replies.... joined the list only 2 days ago and
and getting more info than i could have imagined.... (still trying to keep
track of who is who)....

in any case...

re: a couple of questions i received about the new hampshire lake i
mentioned that was big enough for a rented pearson 26 (which was really beat
up by the way)...

the vaca pretty much came out of nowhere....

got home from 3 weeks (business) in seattle on a fri night... no idea on
what to do for vaca the following week. my sister happened to call, and
mentioned a lake in nh they visited about 10 years ago that was nice. got
on the web, found some rental listings, called rental agent sat morn, gave a
deposit, packed and took off. nothing like last minute "planning".

thus.. 7 hours later arrived at lake winnipesaukee... 72 square miles of
water (28 mi long, 15 mi max width), 274 islands, 178 miles of shoreline (97
mile drive to loop around lake), max water depth 233 ft. average depth 40-45
ft.

we stayed lakefront w/ dock at the tip of merideth neck. from what i heard,
lake used to be very quiet, mostly seasonal cabins/camps, but now turning
into huge (and i mean huge) new waterfront homes.

weekdays it was great... private, quiet.... weekend got a little busier

all in all a very enjoyable week. for more info....
