[Rhodes22-list] One Hatch

I don't remember who started this, and I agree with most comment made.
I have 2 hatches and I love them. I have never had a mildew problem,
but I think that is more a function of climate than the difference
between 1 and 2 hatches. If money were no object I would always get 2
hatches. If that amount of money makes a difference, the second hatch
is one of the first things to go.

If you don't get a second hatch I don't think you will ever miss it, or
get another at a later time. The hatches on my boat can be held ajar
when the pop top enclosure is in place, providing more air -- my boat
does not have opening forward ports which were discontinued because of
leakage problems (I think.)

I almost always sail with both hatches open, and they do act as wind
scoops, keeping both the cabin and the cockpit cooler. The first hatch
totally changes the head experience. The second hatch adds light and
air in the cabin, and provides a safer way to get to the fore deck in
extreme situations.
