Hi Mike:

The mast is stepped and the shrouds are hand-tight.  I noticed this before
the mast was stepped and can't tell any difference, before or after.  No
prepping has been done to the crack, I think it is just the photo
appearance.  I am watching it to see if it grows-so far so good.
