[Rhodes22-list] boat named "almost dog?"

As most probably know, "proper" radio procedure is to announce the boat you are hailing, then your boat. If you're BOAT ONE, hailing BOAT TWO, it's "Boat two, boat two, boat one, over"

With that in mind, I always think of two boat at our marina. One of them is a Hunter 26 called BLOW ME. Another is a 30' boat (I think it's an older Catalina) that was once named SEA HORSE. It became a bit neglected by the owner, sat for several months, and the "E" fell off HORS. A guy in our club bought it, decided to "go cheap" on renaming her. So he took off the "S", and "SEA HOR" was born.

I often thought of the radio conversation that would ensue if BLOW ME needed to call SEA HOR.

Herb,

I guess I forgot to put the ubiquitous smiley face
when I made the suggestion of Oh, no....Bad Dog....

Working at the marina, I also monitor & respond on ch
16/68 and, some of the names......sometimes I just
reply with "Vessel calling Sailing Marina..." Believe
me, some of them I am NOT going to repeat....

I do have quite an illustrative but sedate name
picked out..

Thanks for the tip.
