1.  You are no longer considered a relative newcomer to this list.  
(Although I recognize this as female consensus-speak.)

2.  What do you mean "guys"?  We treasure our "gals" and there have been 
many strong female voices--yours among them.

3.  I completely agree with the substance of your text.

4.  John--should I have changed the subject line to reflect the text, or 
left it so L. would know I was replying to what she said?  This is 
always the problem, but she put the point so well I would want to be 
able to find back what she said the next time this comes up.  I will 
file it in a special place, but that won't work for the next tack tact 
tactician.
