Actually wrt WalMart it may no longer be true that it can skate away from  
medical claims.  The state of Maryland has passed a law that large  retailers - 
and the law was explicitly designed to apply to WalMart - have to  commit 8% 
of net (I think it's net) to employee medical expense.  WalMart  is feeling 
picked on.
