Bill,

How long is your son's pony tail?  Dunking his hair while he's sitting in
the leeward captains chair is way X-sailing!  You've got to have water
coming over the combing before his hair gets wet--unless he's like one of my
colleagues who's pony tail is about 6" from the floor.  Good grief!
And this from you, who is the biggest advocate of flat sailing?

I still think the captain's chairs are a waste of money.  Sitting on the
bare rails is not uncomfortable and most of the time I'm sitting down on the
seats anyway.  Make yourself comfortable and sit in the cockpit and rest
your back against the curved combing.  Better yet, put a throw cushion
behind you and enjoy the blissful comfort.  Safer too.  And especially
sailing upwind your weight should be forward anyway.  The rail meat should
be amidships and the pilot should be sitting as far forward as possible.
And if your son sits on the leeward side cockpit seats, his hair will get
wet much more often.

But either way--cool game!  I would applaud any and all hair dunking.  8-)
