[Rhodes22-list] Fwd: Hello from Iraqi Kurdistan!

Dave,
The munitions found were Sarin, VX and Mustard Agents. The cache was a
relatively small one, but having been on the receiving end of a SCUD, it is
no fun to go into full MOPP in the desert. The bunkers we found also
contained residuals from chemical munitions, though we didn't find the
actual munitions. We couldn't find any evidence of binary munitions (the
newer two part inert type that become lethal after they are fired and mix).
Saddam used a significant amount of chemical munitions on the Iranians and
the Kurds. There is no doubt he had them. In the hand ringing run up to
the war, they went somewhere, but where? Probably Iran, Syria or into the
desert. We still find caches we five years later.
Should we have invaded? No, I don't think so, but we are there and we
have to win. Oh, and Joe Wilson lied or if not outright, understated the
threat, Iraqi agents were in Africa looking to acquire yellow cake and
although not tied to 9/11, they were in frequent contact with al-Quaida.
The Arabs have a saying, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The friend of
my enemy is my enemy." No black and white here. That is why Saddam paid
$25,000.00 to each Palestinian suicide bomber's family.

Philip

What do you call 500 rounds of Chemical Munitions, if not WMD?

Philip

Well, it depends. It might be white phosphorous, in which case I'd call it
a pyrotechnic. Right? But whatever it was, it wasn't much.

But your post did trigger a thought. How many rounds of chemical munitions
do you suppose we have? Oh yeah, count pyrotechnics and special munitions.
So you certainly wouldn't mind if the PRC decided to invade us, liberate us
as it were from our prejudices and our WMD. Right? Turn about is fair
play,
right? And you would be only too happy if they blew up your house, killed
your family, shot your son and/or daughter that had been conscripted into
the
Army, whatever - hey it's the price of liberation, you wouldn't mind would
you? And because you are an open minded fellow, unlike your liberal
brethren,
you wouldn't think of taking up arms to get even and kick the bas****
outta
here - would you? No, never. You would be pleased that they were here and
you would be absolutely thrilled at the prospect of learning Chinese
culture
and laws, and adopting institutions that work in China, all at the point of
their guns. Please think about this; maybe, in some small way, you will
begin
to understand what we have put these people through and begin to understand
their reaction.

Dave
