Wally,
I don't think these guys are freedom fighters. Freedom fighters don't project power (like bombing the WTC or Flying Airplanes into them). They have attacked us for many years and we have shown nothing but restraint, until GWB was elected. Finally, 9/11 was the straw that broke the camel's back. The best defense is a good offense. We have taken the war to them and are on their turf. Read Miniter's book on the successes in the war on terrorism that haven't made it into the traditional media.

Freedom fighters usually have a goal of expelling occupying forces, overthrowing a totalitarian regime or other lofty goals. These guy's stated goal is nothing other than to kill us. They don't care if your liberal, conservative, libertarian, Democrat or Republican. If you're a Rosie O'Donnell lesbian, they will kill you sooner. Their manafest destiny is to convert or kill everyone in the world and there is no compromise. The problem is, each sect wants to convert you to their brand. If you were to convert to Nation of Islam, how long before they (Sunni or Shi'ite) started bombing your mosque? Convert to Sunni? The Shi'ite's bomb you. Convert to Shi'ite, the Sunni's bomb you.

     Ah, the Religion of Peace.

Philip
