I don't think anything mounted to the tiller would see around the  Bimini, I 
could be wrong.  Also, it's not enough to see aloft, I want  to see the entire 
luff, along the boom, and into the belly of the  sail.  Maybe mounting on the 
stern pulpit would work?  But there's a  very wide field of view the mirror 
has to deal with, there's at least  a 60deg field of view vertically and nearly 
180deg horizontally, you're going to  want to monitor that entire field of 
view without having to move your head  outboard, below deck, etc, and that's 
going to be hard.  A large  convex mirror mounted on the stern might do it, 
although it will give you all  kinds of distortion.  Still,  it might give you a 
clue as to whether  there was a problem.
 
The stern pulpit might work.  It probably won't work well in rain, of  course.
