Bill,

I've done it that way too.  That's the method I used before I had the stands
and used the cinder blocks.  I raised it in two stages, first raising the
trailer as high as it would go, blocking up the hull, then cranking the
wheel jacks back to their smallest length and adding a cinder block under
each wheel and jacking them up again.  Then I removed the tires so the
trailer would drop down that much lower.  Lots of room then but lots of
fiddling too.

Re the lever on the screws, next time I'll use two levers--one on each
side--to minimize the risk of a shift.  Good point.
