[Rhodes22-list] New Years Sailing

Tom,
Happy New year to you!
The photo where the three of us are posing was taken by one of the
brothers who are in a travelling sailboat parked at Lighthouse Landing. 
These
brothers, who live in Key West, are making the loop trip. Of course, they 
have
their "River Xs" to support the mast horizontally.
Seems that their parents "ordered" them to make a trip for a visit. Now,
the parents live in Cleveland and kept them there far toooo long.
They finally left, but they hit 0 degrees and snow on Lake Michigan and
froze on the way down the Mississippi.
When they arrived here the 26th of December, they had not showered or had
"land food" for more than 2 weeks!
I have to wonder about some folks. Where is the plan, the timing!! There is 
plenty of reading.
Plus tons of folks go to Key West from here, you would think they could have 
accessed lots
of anecdotal knowledge just by talking with boaters with northern plates! 
Gee, the trip is so pretty down
the TennTom in autumn and up in spring. Too bad they missed it!

PS:  Saw Rip Rap get pulled on travellift Thursday. Went fine.
