Slim, I'd bet you can get the New York Times delivered to you in
Minneapolis.  Different sports but still a real newspaper.  Maybe you can
become a Yankees fan this spring?

We subscribed to the NYT as soon as we got to Seattle.

The larger news organizations are successfully using the Web as another
distribution channel to serve new consumer preferences in how and when they
get news, but the smaller papers won't be able to compete as national/global
news providers online the way they could in print.  I can't prove it to you
(at least not in the time available) but I'm pretty sure (make that certain)
that this is the reason the old line newspaper business is in trouble.
