[Rhodes22-list] Good project for Brad about Football

Brad,

I'll give you a head start on the former Viking who is now a MN Supreme
Court judge. Allen Page. Defensive tackle and part of the four "purple
people-eaters" in the 70s...the Bud Grant days. The Fran Tarkenton days.
(sigh) I grew up in Mankato, MN which is the Vikings summer camp. My uncle
was involved with the program and I got to meet a lot of the players when I
was in high school.

Mankato anecdote: My cousin, Janet was working all alone at a Baskin
Robbins ice cream joint when four gigantic, menacing-looking black guys
roared up on Harleys and all dressed in black leather. Fearing for her
life, she hid silently in the back room until they left. Later she found
out of course it was Allen Page, Carl Eller, Jim Marshall and some other
Viking.
