Rick:

I second Dave's request for a picture of all the pieces involved.  Not every
Rhodes 22 is exactly the same.

That being said, Stan uses wedge shaped spacer piece between the spreaders
and the mast.  That is used to set the correct angle of the spreaders to
mast.  The bolt runs thru it as if it was a big plastic washers.  

The spreaders do not angle forward.  The angle of walls of the mast would
set them forward at that point without the piece.  The piece sets them
angled very slightly backward.  

See attached pictures.  You get bonus points for correctly identifying the
Rhoadies.

You can get the correct pieces currently used from General Boats in Edenton,
North Carolina.  Just send them a blank check*.  Keep in mind that snail
mail works best addressed to Rose.  Otherwise, do not call the plant before
1 or 2 pm.  If you get answer machine, leave complete description of part(s)
needed with your phone number and mailing address.
