[Rhodes22-list] any FL owners?

Al,

How far out in the sound? As far as the winds have taken us. It is under
20 miles to CT, straight across. Mostly daysailing, we are usually content
to sail west no farther than Eaton's Neck and east to Mt Sinai Harbor,
generally 4-6 miles out from LI. There is plenty to do and usually good
winds. To go much farther requires a real plan (and time) and that can put
a damper on just having fun.

The ferry that we worry about is the Pt Jefferson to Bridgeport. They have
been known to run over a sailboat, once. When in the area (Pt Jeff/Mt
Sinai) you really need to watch for the ferry 'cause he can come up on you
quite rapidly and definitely expects you to get out of his way.
